For 6 years, Stone Temple Missionary Baptist Church has opened its doors weekly for Soup for the Soul, a program founded by Pastors Reshorna and Derrick Fitzpatrick that serves hot meals, fresh produce, and grocery staples to North Lawndale neighbors while creating a welcoming space to connect residents with local resources. For this special festival edition of Soup for the Soul at the Chicago Sukkah Design Festival grounds, the program crosses the street to James Stone Freedom Square and joins forces with Soup & Bread, the beloved Chicago community meal series where neighbors gather over homemade soup and fresh bread to raise money for local food pantries. Come out for a free, family-friendly afternoon of good food, good company, and neighborhood connection, with proceeds supporting hunger relief work right here in North Lawndale. Free and open to all!
